My Jazz Basses: My Ibanez Basses: My DeArmond Guitar and Supro Lap Steel (and dad's Fender Princeton Reverb amp): My Ampeg Portabass mini-rig: These are what I currently own. I suppose I could deluge this thread with everything I used to own, like Tom is in his thread......

The Hondos: My first bass, not counting the Kalamazoo I half owned prior to getting this bass. I owned it until I walked into a pawn shop that had the same model bass, but lefty, and the owner agreed to trade me straight up, which was a good thing, because I was too poor to pay attention in those days. I don't have a pic of that 2nd Hondo, and this pic isn't of the one I actually had, either. I was too poor to own a camera back then, too. My 3rd Hondo; it was marginally better than the first 2, but not so much better that you would want anybody to know you ever owned one......which is quite funny, especially considering this pic is of one of the two Hondos I bought a few years back in an insane fit of nostalgia. This is the other of the two nostalgia purchases. Fortunately, I sold them both soon after trying to play them.

Some of the gear I went through in the '90's: The infamous 'Recision bass", Ibanez Soundgear and Hohner PJ Bass; Musicman Stingray and homemade Fender Precision Elite; Ibanez Soundgear and Roadstar basses.

No, it's worn through by the dude who bought it from me. He apparently anchored his thumb there.

Refinishing it would devalue it a bit, so no, it's best to leave it as is. Here's some more of my ex-gear: '92 G&L Legacy Late '80's Fender Strat.

That's a bridge cover; they came standard on the Fender Jazz, Precision, and Telecaster basses through 1978. Inside the cover is a foam strip that deadens the strings to make it sound more like an upright bass; I hardly ever gigged with it on the bass.

I don't think there are many bass players that actually leave those covers on, or if they do not for very long.

Well, it's been 3 days and I haven't bought another 800 yet, so I guess the therapy's working ok....wait, I just found this in Texas: "Soundgear 800, bought in '89, professionaly converted to fretless"! So much for therapy........it's not like I could afford therapy anyway, what with all the basses I've been buying.
