Okay I'll admit it. I've never seen Citizen Kane. I know it's appalling but there it is. I've never watched Casablanca from beginning to end either. Just the popular bits here and there. I don't believe I've seen On Golden Pond or Chariots of Fire or Terms of Endearment or Metropolis either. ;D

I've never seen those films from start to finish either.
I see most of them are Oscar winners (except Citizen Kane and Metropolis, I think). But we all know how capricious the Oscars are.
Other "best" or "classic" movies I've not seen:
Lawrence of Arabia - I keep seeing bits of it on TV but never manage to stick with it. Something about the film bores me. On the other hand, I really enjoyed David Lean's "other" famous epic, Dr. Zhivago. The Battleship Potemkin - hailed as the film that "codified" the language of modern cinema as we know it, but I'd like to watch it myself to see what that means.
The Seven Samurai - perenially pops up in "greatest movies" lists. I'd like to see this, maybe followed by The Magnificent Seven, and then The Last Samurai (kidding).
The Hidden Fortress - supposedly was one of the major inspirations for Star Wars, so of course I'd like to see it.
Gone With The Wind - I respect its significance in the history of Hollywood moviemaking, but as a movie it means little to me.

On the other hand, I really enjoyed David Lean's "other" famous epic, Dr. Zhivago. Yep. Same here. I've seen Zhivago but just bits and pieces of LOA. What's kind of funny is that Peter O'toole is one of my favorite actors. I'll make myself watch the film at some point. Once I've seen it in it's entirety I'm sure it will be worth my time. All films I've heard I should see but haven't. You've reinforced the idea further but I'm not sure when I'll break down and seek them out. I've seen long bits of GWTW but never sat through the entire film. I'm not sure what I've missed is all that significant. I kind of get the idea. In Her Majesty's Secret Service remains elusive and unwatched. Of course only some people believe its one of the best 007 films. I still have no idea.
